How to use Roller Chain Breaker

Safety Note:

Wear Protective Gear: Ensure you are wearing safety glasses and gloves before using the chain breaker.
Release Chain Tension: Ensure no tension on the roller chain; this may require a roller chain puller.
Shut-Off Equipment: Make sure all equipment that the chain is on is shut off before proceeding with the chain-breaking process.

Step 1
Clip the chain breaker onto the roller of the roller chain

It must be ensured that the tips of the roller chain breaker and the pins of the roller chain are precisely aligned. Otherwise, you may break the chain breaker tip or fail to break the roller chain.
Step 2
Turn the handle clockwise to push the pin and break the rivet of the roller chain

After this step, the roller chain rivet has broken. Some people choose to stop here and try to push the single needle out. This may be effective in some situations; however, we strongly advise against it because it is dangerous and difficult to do so. Therefore, we propose to proceed with the next step.

Step 3
Repeat steps 1 and 2 to remove the second pin from the connector board

After this step, your chain should look like the photo below. Both rivets on one side of the chain are now broken and you can remove the pin link.
